IN THIS MONTH

August: A time for rest, for holiday and for pausing to consider the love that moves all hearts to care for our common home.

    1. August is a time when many of us go on holiday. Take a moment to read some of the resources and sustainable travel tips from Sustainable Travel International.

    2. Watch Manufactured Landscapes by Edward Burtynsky, a visually stunning film that helps us understand the real world impact of our economic models.

    1. Despite the many issues we face, the world is filled with people who love our planet, who love each other and desire a life lived simply, sustainably and in solidarity. Aim to have one conversation a week in August where you ask someone what they most love about our world.

    2. Write down one word each day that describes something you love about our world. Living sustainably is an act of love and its important that we remember how and why we love; whether its bluebells or blue whales, make a point to write down what you carry on your heart.

    1. This month, we pray for the gift of love. To know in our own hearts, to see it in others and to act from love in our aims to live simply individually and as a Parish.

    2. This month you may wish to checkout the beautiful resources of gratefulness.org which grew out of the work of Brother David Steindl Rast. Full of beauty, love and gratitude, a place to rest and remember the love that dwells amongst us.
